In the fall of 99' Charlie received a lobster tail and steak gift from his aunt Cecile who lives in Sea Girt, NJ. It was a surf and turf gift delivered by one of those big mail order steak companies. Although Charlie said the New York strip wasn't bad, the tail was small, dry and the taste unremarkable.
The lobster tails were from warm-water spiny lobsters. Charlie insists on only buying cold-water tails direct from Maine or Canada. Charlie explains the warm water tails are always much cheaper than cold-water lobster tails. You can taste and see the difference.
On another occasion, Charlie dined at a popular chop house in Chicago. Charlie's surf and turf dinner came with a rock lobster tail. He sent it back! The CHI Sox beat the Red Sox the same night!
